The Spot
The Spot, Where YOU(th) Wanna Be, is located in the Yorkgate Mall and offers
programming for youth between the ages of 13—30 years of age. Our youth programs
are committed to increasing and building the leadership skills of youth.
The goal of our programs is to prevent violence and drug misuse as well as
to promote healthy lifestyle choices. This is done through social, educational,
art and recreational programming, after-school programs, leadership and
mentoring programs, drop-ins, outings, volunteer and employment
opportunities.
The Spot allows you to make new friends, gaining
leadership skills, contributing to the community and Help youth keep an open mind to new ideas
(violence prevention, anti-racism, sexual health, peer mentoring, alcohol and
drugs). Youth may receive community service hours.
The Spot works with
partnering organizations to deliver even more programs to youth by sharing
space, providing support, and collaborating on programs together, Youth and
FOCUS Program.

PEACH(Protecting Education and Community Health)
PEACH helps youths and their families to bounce back from setbacks, reconnect
to education, experience strong adult support, improve learning skills, become
engaged in community activities, express themselves, and feel connected. Every
semester that a marginalized young person stays connected to education has a
positive impact not only for the student, but for the family, the community, and
our society.

Driftwood Community Centre
Driftwood Community Centre is a 75,000 square foot priority centre located at
the intersection of Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue. Driftwood Community
Centre has 6 multipurpose rooms, 2 dedicated computer lab, 2 recreation staff
offices, 1 maintenance staff office, a full-size gymnasium, a kitchen, 2
washrooms, 2 change rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, parking lot, outdoor
basketball pad and playground.
